Angelo, like his four older brothers, was a pioneer of the Australian Restaurant Industry. Beginning work in his early teens cleaning cutlery and ashtrays, his expertise and knowledge of his craft grew rapidly.
By age 22 Angelo was maitre d' of the Chevron Hilton in Sydney, in charge of hundreds of staff, busy functions and prestigious A-list shows in the famous Silver Spade Room.
Since then, Angelo himself has owned and operated 15 of the Omeros Family Restaurants with various older brothers in Sydney, Gold Coast and Brisbane. Proving time and again that the Omeros Brothers have what it takes to be successful wherever they venture. A master of people-skills, Angelo was revered by many as being one of the best front-of-house men in Australia.
On November 21st 2001, Angelo passed away of Cancer aged 55 years. The Angelo Omeros Memorial Golf Cup held annually, has since raised over $50,000 towards Cancer research.
Angelo and brother Nick considered their Marina Mirage restaurant to be one of their greatest achievements. With a string of awards that speak for themselves, the Omeros legacy of, “great food, great service and great value,” continue to provide customers with a memorable dining experience.
Nick Omeros continues to operate the Omeros Brothers Seafood Restaurant at Marina Mirage.
Angelo was a gentleman held in the highest esteem by friends, relatives, employees, businessmen and customers alike. He was a mentor that all looked up to and will never forget. Angelo’s nature and sense of integrity will inspire us to be the best we can be, in all walks of life.
